L'Aura (nome d'arte di Laura Abela; Brescia, 13 agosto 1984) è una cantautrice italiana.
All'età di otto anni inizia a studiare pianoforte e violino a Rezzato (BS).
Nel 2000, a sedici anni, si trasferisce a Berkeley, in California, dove conclude la scuola secondaria superiore, studia inglese e si mantiene economicamente suonando nei locali.
Nel 2002 rientra in Italia e comincia a registrare quello che sarà il suo album di esordio, Okumuki, con la supervisione di Enrique Gonzalez Müller, produttore dei Plant Studios di San Francisco.
Nel marzo 2005 esce il singolo di esordio, Radio star che, proprio come narra la canzone, la trasforma in una vera e propria stella della radio. Il brano infatti, viene continuamente trasmesso in radio e nelle tv musicali.
In aprile viene pubblicato Okumuki: l'album contiene undici brani che vedono L'Aura protagonista sia come compositrice, sia come musicista polistrumentista e cantante. Nel corso dell'anno usciranno altri due singoli estratti dallo stesso album: Today e Una favola, che otterranno un buon successo di vendita. Nel settembre 2005 Claudio Baglioni la chiama a duettare con lui per la manifestazione O' Scià di Lampedusa. Sempre nel settembre 2005 partecipa al Piazzola Music Award, dove interpreta il brano Quien con Aldemaro Romero (al piano) ed esegue inoltre un live di Today.
Verso la fine del 2005 L'Aura vince il Premio rivelazione dell'anno al M.E.I. (Meeting delle etichette indipendenti) di Faenza.
La grande svolta arriva nel febbraio 2006, quando L'Aura partecipa alla 56ª edizione del Festival di Sanremo, nella categoria Giovani, con il brano Irraggiungibile. La canzone viene eliminata in semifinale, ma è il mercato a proclamarla di fatto vincitrice della categoria: Irraggiungibile, una rock-ballad, entra infatti in top 20 e viene trasmessa su molte tv musicali.
Contemporaneamente al singolo viene pubblicata la ristampa di Okumuki (CD/DVD - DualDisc), che contiene gli undici brani dell'originale, tre inediti ed una cover di David Bowie, oltre a quattro video musicali. Anche la ristampa rientra in classifica e conquista il disco d'oro per le oltre 50.000 copie vendute.

PSU APPOINTED NIMCO AHMED MOHAMOUD DEAN OF ACADAMIC AFFAIRS
First Female Dean in Puntland Higher Education
June 1, 2007 Puntland State University Garowe Campus President has appointed Nimo Ahmed Mohamoud Acting Dean of Academic Affairs. This appointment is an additional responsibility to her current teaching position.The first female dean, she will be head of the Academic Division responsible for teaching/ learning, research, registry, admissions, and student services provision.
The aftermath of the civil strife left many women alone and with no means to provide for their children, and in great need of additional education and training. Puntland State University attempted establishing educational initiatives concentrated on training centering on gender equity, enhancing the role of women and the promotion of human rights.
Nimo Ahmed Mohamoud is product of Puntland State University mission and vision and Ms. Nimo stated “I am committed Puntland State University to be one of the best higher education in Puntland and Somali in general. Nimo graduated from a two year Diploma course offered female students at PSU during its formative stages. Afterwards she left Puntland for India, where successfully completed Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters Business Administration. Upon completion of the MBA, Nimo consulted with PSU administration expressing her desire to come back to Somalia. PSU in liaison with UNDP Somalia-through the QUEST program organized and facilitated Nimo’s return to her former College as an Instructor.
Ms. Nimo has Bachelors degree in Business Administration from University of Madras India and master’s degree in Business Administration from (Training and Advanced Management and Communication) TASMAC India validated with the University of Wales UK. She will be the youngest female to hold such position in Puntland. Nimo aspires to foster democratic Institutional leadership to steer PSU to greater heights of prosperity. She is committed to the developing of and upholding PSU values of gender equality and women development through Education.
Puntland State University vision is to improve the life of Puntland and Somali people through the provision of sustainable education and skill-training policies with feasible education programme development. The University will enhance its reputation as an institution of higher learning where imagination, innovation, and application of knowledge are integrated to provide leadership into the future.

Non chiedo locali solo LGBT,
ma vorrei che tutti potessero stare insieme,
senza che nessuno,
se due maschi
o due ragazze si baciano
e stanno abbracciati,
si scandalizzino.
Vorrei che nessuno ancora ci dicesse
che siamo malati,pazzi,contro natura,
ma che capissero i nostri sentimenti.
Vorrei trovare un giorno l'amore,

Vorrei tanto svegliarmi una mattina e trovare un mondo
senza discriminazioni,

siano accettati e non più discriminati,

"Coming-Out" come affrontarlo? Perché è così difficile? Io non so se e quando comunicherò la mia bisessualità ai miei e a mia sorella. Ultimamente però sto male perché loro non lo sanno e sto ancora più male se penso alle parole che mi disse mia sorella. Io non riesco a capirle:
1) perché io sono bisessuale ed esisto;
2)non sono omosessuale repressa;
3)come si fa ad accettare l'omosessualità e non la bisessualità?
4)Come si fa a dire che in Italia non esiste l'omofobia e mai esisterà?
Purtroppo non solo noi bisessuali esistiamo e non siamo malati,ma esiste pure l'omofobia ed esiste in tutto il mondo. Omofobia?Sì omofobia pure nelle famiglie. Ma quello che più fa orrore e la bifobia o bisessuofobia,non se ne parla,ma esiste ed è lo stesso per i bisessuali dell'omofobia verso gay e lesbiche.
Io mi chiedo perché molte persone,che accettano l'omosessualità,non accettano la bisessualità?
Io penso spesso al mio coming-out,che fare scrivere una lettera a mia madre,una lettera a mia sorella dicendole anche che mi ha ferita con le mie parole?Avrei scelto il giorno di Natale per dargli la lettera,ma non so se rovinerei le feste,non so come la prenderebbero,non so se accetterebbero,non so se mi direbbero che sono lesbica,non so...Non so come andrebbe a finire. Non so se scrivere solo a mia madre o pure a mia sorella, non so,non so,non so...
Tutto questo mi fa impazzire,io non trovo soluzioni!
